Career Technical Education Center in Rochester, NY
At University Preparatory Charter School for Young Men, keeping students actively involved is crucial, and hands-on experiences significantly benefit them both in and outside the classroom. Through the Career and Technical Education Center (CTE) on campus, young men acquire essential skills in fields like culinary arts, machining, building trades, and information technology. With six full-time faculty on staff, students get the attention they need in order to thrive at our CTE center.
Prepared Through Practical Experience
In a comprehensive two-year program, students develop core skills that ready them for further academic pursuits or to enter the job market with confidence. These practical experiences are integrated throughout their high school years with initiatives such as the Griffin Café. This student-managed restaurant, which opens weekly to the public, offers a real-world application of their learning.
Additionally, UPrep collaborates with local colleges to ensure students have pathways to continue their education in specialized programs, like machinery, after they graduate.
